Look at it this way: right now your sister's over there, you're over here. Aside from dropping her a line and wishing her well, there's not too much direct stuff you can really do right now to help. Ya just gotta keep on goin', even if that does stay constantly in the back of your head the whole time. But once you do get a chance to check up on her, well . . . you'll have thought up a really good way to help her by then, or something, right?
It'll all be okay. I promise.
And if nothing else, you have Fruits Basket to watch now - if THAT doesn't heal and comfort your spirits, nothing will.

You could always just shoot him an email. He's just been extremely busy and hasn't watched much/any Anime in the last few months. It doesn't bother us when people ask, but it's quicker to just email him directly. chibigodzilla@anime-pulse.com

The Proclaimers! Heh, that song is pretty old. It was already several years old when I was in high school, but I became addicted to it for a time. I also believe David Tennant (Doctor Who) is one of their fans.
