Portfolio is certainly important. I think only the Rhode Island School of Art and Design looked into SAT scores...I think.

I don't know if there's a specific cut-off point for scores when it comes to being an art student. All I know is that virtually all the art schools I visited, didn't care about the SAT scores...they just cared about looking at my portfolio.
