It can be if you do it for the right reasons. It's nothing like the movies though, it's very romanticized and unrealistic in the movies. It also depends on the instructor too, a good instructor will teach you moves that could be useful, even life-saving, in a threatening situation. All I can say is "it depends" ^^;
Haha, I used to do martial arts, tae kwon do and Brazilian jiu-jistu, and I also used to run a lot even though I never did a school sport, but I haven't practiced in a very long time so I'm quite out of shape lol. My hand-eye/foot-eye coordination isn't so great either with sports, except for kicking an opponent, haha.
Oh, you probably can! The time is pretty easy to make, as practically everyone passed. And if the coaches know that someone's slower than average, they just grade based off of the effort put in. :D
(sadly, I'm known to be a fast runner by the coaches, so I can't slack off during runs, haha)
Wow 30 pushups? I can't even do 20! xD You seem to be pretty athletic as well!
Nah, I don't do any sports besides track. I'm not really good at hand-eye coordination, and am even worse at foot-eye coordination, so yea. I really wish I can play more sports though, since they're so much fun! ^^
That's cool :D I never remembered having to do anything rigorous like that. I knew that I scored somewhat above average than national, only because I can do push-ups and sit-ups pretty fast, and I used to be a good runner and finish before time too. Now I'm lazy and hate running LOL I probably can't do more than 30 push-ups anymore unless I train. Which I have no intention of doing as of now x)
that's a pretty good score though, do you do other sports?
No, but she's extremely athletic, her husband is (or was?) the football coach of one of those big-time football teams, and one of our sports coaches who she works with is an ex-navy seal.
So, yeah. xD
Haha, yep! I was so surprised I managed to actually even was able to complete it!
Just hearing about what we had to do scared me so bad! But, as you said, now I can brag about it. :P
The Presidential Fitness thing was a set of exercises with goals. For instance, girls who were 14-15 years old should be able to do 22 pushups, 45 sit ups and run a 7:30 mile (or something like that). So it was more or less a program to give kids a goal they should shoot for. It was sorta fun.
Haha, that's not too old! :D You're like the age of some of my cousins!
It was challenging for sure! I'm competitive though, so even if I try to slow myself down to give my body a break, MY MIND NEVER LISTENS. Sometimes, I hate that. Other times, I'm happy for that. xD There were quite a few girls who did try, due to them being on cross country. And I finished 4th overall, so 3 guys had beaten me. And I doubt only 4 people tried, haha
I've never heard of the Presidential challenge. What was it?
Wow! That sounds challenging for sure! I don't think I could make it 'cause I'm all sorts of out of shape (sorta) since graduating high school 7 years ago... Oh man. I'm old...
Congrats on actually completing it AND finishing the run first out of all the girls! I wonder how many of them really didn't try...Some people are like that.
I've never heard of the Navy Seal Challenge, though we used to do a Presidential Fitness Routine. Ever heard of that?

Ah, well I'm not really what most would call "athletic".
