OMG I'm LAUGHING at that image. LOL That is so...hilariously sad. I feel for that kid. (Oh the days of butt-shorts on men...)
Dude, I would totally do long distance running as opposed to sprinting. I fail at sprinting. At least you weren't sore, which is pretty amazing if you hadn't been in shape before. Haha If only that were the case with me when I rain a 5k for the first time WITHOUT training... bad times...
Oh thats good! You wouldn't want to be stuck doing track if you didn't enjoy it^^ xD For some reason, I've played hockey for 6 hours straight but I can't even run up the street xD lol Maybe its cuz hockey slowly gets me in shape without me really noticing since I'm having so much fun :D Good luck in your future races^^
Well being short really has no affect on most events. The world record for triple jump is around 61 feet and it was set by a Cuban who i think was around 5'3". It really comes down to what event you like and have fun at. I enjoyed long and triple jump because it was technique based but also was fun playing in a sand box lol. So don't let your height make you think you can't do certain events, some might just require more work for you but who cares. If you like the event go for and enjoy doing it.
Probably not much help with that. If you are fast or don't like running long distances try sprinting. If you have high endurance long distance is for you. If you want to play in a sand box lol try long or triple jump. You get to do some spinning if your coach allows it for discus.
So there are lots of choices but it they don't really matter unless you enjoy them. Otherwise you wont want to go to practice and work at them. But good luck to you and have fun with it.
Ah my dad and sister are into track.. and crosscountry. i like to be active, but I don't have a lot of endurance unless I'm playing ice hockey. Thats a lot of work you did though! You're school must be serious runners!! They never did that much training with us xP I was about to say 'lucky you', but are you really lucky? I know you'll do great though! Its so cool that you've tried out though^^
At first it was but if you just worry about how well you do compared to yourself it is not to bad. Also if you do your best each time your out there and are enjoying yourself then it doesn't really matter. At least that is how I always went about it.
I never was the best when at track meets. I would always just try to beat me previous best distance for jumping or try to get a faster time when running. Good luck, work hard and have fun.
I wouldn't say I am good I just enjoyed Long and Triple. Lots of work but you get to meet a lot of nice people. Don't worry about being good just remember to have fun and enjoy it.
OH WOW! You seem like you're really good at this sport! Haha, it's my first time!
I saw the hurdles at my school- they're like half my height if not more!
