Within .003 sec for your eyes to sent the information to brain, your brain think over 100 things (that include other off topic stuff too lol) and within .07 of second it take to send the information to your body to react... out of all the things, she decide to slam it to the fence... IDK. Sorry to say this, but that doesn't sound logical to me.

Anyways, that's why I love Manual. I have full control of throttle, gears, and braking. If this ever happens, just push the clutch in and car won't go anywhere. I don't even need to worry bout hitting the brake. lol

WELL. Aren't YOU the master?? Seriously, if your car started freaking out like that, would you be thinking so clearly to remember to do one of those things? I know I would be panicking. I'm sure she was, too. Maybe you wouldn't lol. XD But that really sucks. more and more Toyota accidents!! :/
