Basically Maroon is a person who can turn into a dog (specifically an Irish Setter) and his friend, who's also sort of his boss, Rocky (who can also turn into a dog), sent him to Skid Row to check on the flower shop. When he was there, he realized about Twoey and the other flytraps. Although at first he was doubtful of the plants and people, he eventually made friends with them, especially a little girl named Goldie( who could turn into a Golden Retriever). After the end of the movie*, however, Rocky reappeared and revealed that he had planned it all. After this Rocky and the others recognized Maroon more and as a Christmas present, they gave him Audrey III**
*I don't want to give away spoilers, but it occurs after the climax of the film
**also related to the film, it's the little flytrap right before the credits
I know the story's really weird, but that's just how my imagination works.
