    @SolemnSerpent:

    On that point as well. There are a lot of really good anime who do well where they have a big goal in mind and make the audience as well as the characters slowly lose interest in that goal. Well, most of the ones I am talking about are more about finding parents etc.

    It's just hard to keep watching/reading when more and more episodes/chapters keep coming out and that goal seems to distant. I mean, Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon are both long anime but they don't have a big goal that we are waiting to happen. That might be another weakness of the series.

    I might read it as well if it is completely finished just to understand the themes and writing style that made it so popular.

    I think in most, if not all, shounen you know the main character isn't going to die or lose too bad that they have no hope. Yet Naruto does seem a tad overpowered. There are times when he thinks he can't do it, but the audience knows he can. I don't know if that is good storytelling or not, but it does make Naruto seem a bit invincible.

    Well thank you~

    I legit only wanted to watch Naruto so he could become Hokage.

    Still hasn't happened.

    So I gave up right around the time you did.

    When the series finishes and it's complete, then I'll care to watch it.

    And I agree about Orochimaru; honestly, all villains in that series could be more... terrifying, imposing, but Naruto is obviously not going to die anytime soon, so why worry. //kishimoto!facepalm

    That man could take a grenade to the face and then cartwheel away whilst juggling chainsaws - he'll always be fine.

    That's why I preferred Bleach to some degree, but that show is lasting too long, so I gave up too.

    Overall, I agree with your posting. Completely justified, tbh.
