    Aww, your artwork isn't as a bad as you think. I have...embarrassing artwork...Like I was drawing embarrassing things that I still wouldn't draw nowadays...O.o

    Yeah I get no comments on DA, and you have to get a subscription to ask for critiques the proper way. But everyone is really nice and considerate on here, which is why I love this place, and the same on MB.

    Yeah, I saw somebody else's topic and they were like 12 and they were asking if their art was good and if they could get critiques, and some girl told them that they should all together stop being an artist forever because they have no talent. Which would be really mean for all ages. But good thing that everybody scolded that poster back saying that that wasn't a proper critique and that they shouldn't discourage anyone.

    Oh! Yay! But I don't think you'll be mean even as much as you try to be. For instance, myself, I'm always afraid I'll be mean when I give critiques, but in the end...I think I might help them. But then again, if you're really worried you can keep apologizing, another thing that I do! XD

    @Paulini:

    Yes, I know. And thankfully I got some of those in that topic, but most of them weren't telling me anything and being rude about it.

    And, yeah, I know now that it's not something to really think about. I don't think it was because of those comments, I just think I realized over a time that people improve at different ages and begin at different ages, so there's nothing really to compare.

    Yeah, I hear the happens a lot on gaia. I had topics with comments that were worse, but I don't think the topic or the comments had any point so I didn't share them.

    I never thought of the sketchbook that way...I was just thinking that I wouldn't go off and do something else, but that's an even better way of thinking of it! XD

    I know, you're so nice! X3

    A proper critique is when someone mentions what he/she likes and dislikes about that piece of work, and gives advice on improvement. Not telling people how to live their life. >.<
    The comments were really rude. What a way to ruin someone's day =.=

    However, I do agree that age isn't a limit for what you learn, whether it's art or other subjects.

    Anyway, have a good day! =)

    Oh, wow. O.O

    I hate when ppl think they have to be rude and hateful to get their point across. You can be just as effective by being polite >:/

    I'm sorry that ppl had to comment on your stuff like that. It must've been a rude awakening for you back then ;; Though now you seem to take it as a way to keep going, which is very commendable ^^ Taking a bad thing and turning it into a good thing.

    It can be pretty hard getting critiques -_- And it seems like when you're not asking/expecting them, you get flooded with them LOL.

    Getting a sketchbook is a good idea. You just can't get the same feeling with a tablet that you can with a pencil. Plus it kind of keeps your pictures in order and you can see the improvement as you draw page by page.

    Thank you for sharing a bit of those comments. It kind of re-taught me a lesson ^^
