Yoki n' Lin Ling

It was him… I didn’t think I would see him ever again…

“Oh dear, what happened?”
“She tripped and fell on her way to school.” He told the nurse.
“Oh goodness… That’s just not good.” Said the nurse.
“It’s not broken, she got lucky.” He said. “Where do you want her?” He asked the nurse.
“Right over there, on the bed.” The nurse replied.
“Ow, ow…” Ayu whimpered in between tears.
“There, there, Ayu-san, don’t cry… It’ll be all right now…the nurse is here; she’s going to bandage you right up.”
“Yeah, don’t cry. I have done way, way worse than this. Like one time, I broke my leg, arm, and four fingers all in one day. I was in so much pain that my friends got me drunk, which was another reason why I broke them in the first place, but anyways, they got me so drunk that by the end of the night I was singing Yankee doodle with a beer in one hand and a mic in the other.”
Ayu and I giggled.
“Well at lest that made you laugh…” He said.
“Thank you… I’m so sorry I was mean to you earlier, but Lin Ling-san is like my sister. I only want the best for her.”
“Aw, Ayu-san…”
“Lin Ling, you mean everything to me, I can’t even think how life would be if I didn’t have you around. You are my sister, if not in blood, but in spirit, remember?”
“Yes, friends ‘til the end.”
“Mr. Sukami, you help is no longer needed. You can go to class now.” The nurse told the boy.
“Yo, Sukami…thanks.” Ayu told him.
“Yea, thanks. I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t shown up.” I said.
“No problem, pleasure was mine.”
“Miss Nakashima, you should go to class too, miss Oki will be fine here.”
“But…”
“Go, Lin Ling, I’ll be okay.”
“Alright, but if you need me just call me, alright?
“Okay, I will. Now get going, I don’t want you to miss that very intellect speech Mr. Huniko was supposed to give us today.”
“Ha, ha, very funny, your lucky your hurt right now.”

Ayu and I have had the same classes together since fifth grade. Weird, but I don’t complain. I don’t have a reason to; I mean, she only IS my best friend.

“Miss Nakashima! Why are you late? And where is Miss Oki?”
“She…”
“Hurt her ankle coming to school. I was of some assistance to miss Oki and Miss Nakashima.”
“Ah, Mr. Sukami, I was awaiting your arrival. Class, this is our newest student from Mamiha. Please give him a warm welcome. And Miss Nakashima, thanks to Mr. Sukami, you’re off the hook, this time at lest. Please take your seats.”
“You can sit with me, if you like. There is an open seat just to the right of me. Ayu sits on the left side of me. But she won’t be back ‘til tomorrow. So I guess you will be my company ‘til she gets back.”
“Okay… Whatever you wish.”

“As I was, the battle front went into battle, surging through the enemies base…”
“So, is this guy always this boring?”
“Yes, but usually Ayu and I just zone out.”
“Ha, ha, I take it that you’re not a book nerd?”
“Oh, no, no, no! Though I read lots of books, but that don’t mean I am A-student. I just prefer to read more define books, with inner meanings to them. It’s just that history and science don’t interest me…”
“Of course. Just book smarts alone can make life full and happy. You must find what you find interesting and fun. Enjoying life is what’s it all about.”
“Well said… I just could live without my poetry, or my books. They are what feed my fire of ambition for life.”
“You write poetry?”
“Yes, I have written hundreds of them. I write two or three a day. It is my freedom from this world.”
“Really, is that so? You’ll have to read me sometime.”
“Maybe…Sometime… I’d like that.”
(The bell rings)
“Class dismissed. We will continue tomorrow.”
“Aw…” (Whole class)
“Well, I guess that’s that.”
“Yeah, I guess. Hey, Sukami, What is your name?”
“What do you mean, you just said it.”
“Ha, ha, very funny. I meant your real name…”
“Just call me Yoki…”
“Okay… see you around, Yoki.”
“Yeah, you too, Linikoko…” (Smiles)
“(How, how… did…he know my real name?)”
