I could recommend you Spice and Wolf, Scrapped princess, Clannad, School Days.^^
Each different and special on it's own and each have some things in common. :)

Durarara is a good anime series. And you can't go wrong with Sailor Moon. There's also Tokyo Mew Mew, but you might have to watch that one on Youtube or a similar website. Some other anime that I would recommend are Vampire Princess Miyu, Code Geass, InuYasha, and if I think of anymore I'll let you know.
