Thats just how it is, I'm afraid. Even around here, if I make a make a basket, or say "Snap", or excliam in spanish, people are like "Hey, you're white!"

I look down at my arm and say "Huh, what do know? I am!"

Predjudical preconceptions are just something you learn to deal with after a while.

But yeah I totally agree. It's just like what happened during the presidential campaign. The focus was on the chick and the black dude. But whatev, that's media for you. :/

Unfortunately, the advent of multiculturalism has brought about a feeling of needing to focus on a minority simply for being a minority and not because they have a particular talent or have been independently successful. It is good that we have people of all different ethnic groups participating in things such as sports, business and government, and sometimes the other culture really is interesting to learn about, but the media really needs to stop making a big deal out of the fact they're not of European descent. These are people, not circus freaks needing to be showcased in a performance. He's Hispanic? So what; as long as he gets done what needs to be done, that should be all that matters... right?

Then again, I'm really, really bitter when it comes to race relations. Why people can't shut up and move on towards a day where we are all treated the same no matter ethnicity is beyond me.
