Heh, I would have though Hitsugaya would be your choice too, but Kino makes sense. ^^

She's also gender-neutral, something I am. It's not as if I were gay, but I come across that way to many, being brash, straightforward, and having one short (3 month) dating period in my entire life with a single person.

I haven't seen the Kino anime, but I can see why you would choose her for this.
If it helps, I've never been on a date, or had a kiss or nothin' like that. Perfectly normal to me.
