I suppose you can't do much about your mom's bf and his kids, except try to ignore them... I hope your mom and brother are better now =]
well, the way I see it, there could be a number of reasons why your ex gets angry depending on her personality:
she's the possessive kind of person who doesn't want someone having something/someone she once had even if she doesn't want that person/thing
she still has feelings for you that go beyond friendship. (even if she was the one who broke it off and doesn't want you back, feelings don't just disappear overnight).
she's jealous cos you got a gf before she did...
it could be something else too, but those seem the most probable (to me at least).
assuming you value and still want her friendship, you should try to talk to her about it in person.

it could be something else too, but those seem the most probable (to me at least).
assuming you value and still want her friendship, you should try to talk to her about it in person.
