I was shocked when I read about this earlier. He's become such a standard in political coverage that it will be bizarre to have this election go on without him.
I don't often watch Meet the Press, but I know from his work on the NBC Nightly News (because it has the coolest anchor known to the world) that he was a damn fine reporter.
I'm really sad about this. I know my journalism mentor is, too. D:

Why can't the hacks die? Why does it have to be the real journalist?
I never watched his show (news and politics depress me), but I salute anyone who is a genuine journalist.
