For the time being, I'm alright =^_^= Maybe because I'm not thinking about it as much right now and the shock isn't as fresh. My mom's ok too, but every so often she does get worked up, but I understand. We'll have a chance to grieve properly at the funeral next week.

Yeah... when mom mentioned some suspicions when we first visited, I tried to give the benfit of the doubt, but this is just too much...

Well, he wouldn't normally be in the care home, but my grandmother was unable to provide him with the care he needed and something was wrong with his foot at the time (He was diabetic). When grandma heard, she tried to see if she could get him into this other elders' apartment-type complex where my great-grandma stayed, and she was in pretty good health while there. I think she's back with family now, so I dunno, but it was a nice place And the staff seemed to care.

No, I don't think punching them is going to help much... Besides, unless I hear them say something like "Good riddance" or other insensitive remarks, I don't think I'd take any physical action. But I hope that maybe someone can see that maybe they should be brought up to code from this tragedy...

Yes. I'm fine for now. It's hard to believe... This is two grandparents now, within the past year. That makes 4 family deaths within the same timeframe, too... I wonder what's going on that everyone seems to be going away so close together? Not to mention both my grandparents on either side of the family were generally strong for their age, but unfortunate circumastances sent them to a better place... Still, I wish they were still around.

To be perfectly frank, even though I am a nursing student, I had to work in a nursing home for one week and I HATED IT. My reasoning is basically what you described but these so called 'nurses' there treated their nursing assistants like crap and they then treated their patients like crap. I felt like the care was horrible PLUS these people were forgotten about.

Like the family just pasted them to this nursing home to take care of all their worries, I hate that, and it made me sick on how they abused these people or mistreated them which really bothered me A LOT!

I am sorry for your lost but I shall pray for you and your family!
