    I can tell you exactly what the production company are thinking: They can make more money of out it by producing a second series (regardless of where the manga is up to). Its exactly what they did with the second series of Black Butler... which sucked.

    @ElementalNinja:

    Yep exactly! It makes me sad hahaha

    The Ken and Arima fight is literally what I was waiting for and THEN
    IT WASN'T EVEN INCLUDED WHAT.
    WHEN I SAW THAT SCENE I CRIED. HOLY CRAP LIKE WHY DID THAT NEED TO
    HAPPEN? Poor guy.

    I'm hoping they'll do what they did with Fullmetal Alchemist and FMA: Brotherhood you know?

    I'm really looking forward to whatever they are planning to do in the future
    because I did like season 1!

    The anime as a whole didn't really do the manga justice. It was nice during some episodes but it was just... "NO STOP WHAT ARE YOU DOING??" I didn't like how they switched back and forth from staying on the manga path for a bit and then going off somewhere that didn't happen and then going back on the manga path. It just wasn't very well transitioned, I think. I appreciate what they were trying to do, but it just kinda... fell through.

    I'm honestly so glad I read the manga before I got in too deep with this. I completely agree with you with it being a million times better, and that's no exaggeration. I was needless to say disappointed whey they decided not to show the fight with Ken and Arima. I agree that the acoustic version of "Unravel" was a nice touch and it really suit the scene and with the meaning behind it. Just the last few episodes leading up to the last were just... no. Just no. They were good at making things emotional and heartbreaking, but the manga put so much more into it though and there were actual reasons behind things that actually got explained/covered. The details were so important and the anime failed to cover most of them. ALSO THEY KILLED OFF HIDE... WHAT KIND OF SHIT WAS THAT?

    I mean, I guess they made the anime for those who loved the manga, since some of it was left up to assumption/fan interpretation, but in a way, it also bugs me that people who haven't read the manga and or refuse to read it will never get the true, full experience, and instead, get fed some partially false, rushed and half-assed adaption. It was nice in a way, but just so painfully disappointing. I really wished they had just stuck with the manga as a whole. Some things just didn't need to happen or had no reason to happen, tbh. It was just wasted potential, and that makes me sad. It also makes me question just how much of this Ishida supervised...

    I also didn't like how they treated Touka in this season, or how they portrayed her character in general. Even though she's my favorite, it was just so cringe-worthy and even I have to admit that.

    Also at the very end of the last episode when Touka opened the shop back up and the sign had "Re:" on it, even though it hasn't been announced or officially confirmed, it can be taken as a possibility that they could be very well planning to make the manga sequel into an anime sometime in the future as well. Let's just hope if it does get green-lit that it actually does a decent job, at least.

    It also seems that there's going to be an OVA Tokyo Ghoul: Jack sometime soon too. I haven't read any of the side stories, but just to be on the safe side, I might have to end up reading this one at a later point before it comes out and possibly look into Joker as well. I hear both of them are about Arima and Suzuya and I'm pretty fond of their characters, so I might have to check them out sooner. cx
