The Blue Ridge Parkway
The Blue Ridge Parkway is not only a destination on a list of things to see for the locals; rather, it is a means of evading the traffic that is so congested that it is impossible to move. It is a geometry dash time-honored custom in our family to take pleasure in a cup of hot apple cider or coffee while taking in the sights and sounds of the breathtaking autumn foliage. It is a picnic basket that is filled with sandwiches made with tomato and mayonnaise, as well as ice-cold tea, taken on a hot and humid summer day next to a drinking well that is still maintained by the people. There is something about a winter trek to a waterfall or an overlook that, regardless of how many times you have seen it, somehow manages to steal your breath away.
The opportunity to become lost in the depths of Mother Nature is one of the things that contributes to the tranquility of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This may be accomplished with or without ever stepping out of your vehicle. With hundreds of hiking paths, enough of territory to traverse at a moderate pace (with a maximum speed of 35), views, artisan craft stores, and tiny villages along the journey, there is something that can help everyone relax and unwind.
I have a suggestion for you if you are able to go the Parkway on a spring afternoon when the air is crisp and the weather is perfect: The Avett Brothers should be played on low volume, the windows should be rolled down, and the sunroof should be opened. The remainder will be taken care of by the mountain air and the beautiful sky of the Carolinas.
