Interesting topic... coming from the girl who's been judged like this all her life! Trust me, you don't want to know!
From an early age I discovered why I couldn't make a lot of friends: my clothes weren't expensive enough.
But I also learned that I shouldn't judge people by their clothes. Everytime I think about this, I remember how affected I was so I never do it. And because I think I might miss an opportunity to meet someone great! Who knows? :)
I don't know really, I sometimes admire people, say if they have a pretty shirt on for example, but I don't tend to think about clothes too much. We all have our own favourite things to wear ^^
If anything, i'm probably more likely to BE judged >.> I prefer to be comfortable, so I don't wear fancy shoes and I often get cold so I wear a hoodie and look like a scruff XD ahaha... i'm not fashionable in any way... T.T
Of course I judge people by their clothes, appearance is what you first come in contact with when meeting a person (in real life). There are two types of styles here, speaking for teens and young adults:
- the "pitzi" style, where people wear pseudo-designer clothes which are generally flashy, glittery and supposedly "cutesy"; these people are often vain and have low self esteem, therefore trying to compensate by dressing in an eye-raping manner.
- the normal style, what you would describe as casual clothes or even casual-to-elegant; most often, the clothes are ones you'd find even in the market, because these people are financially-conscious enough not to waste money on expensive designer-wear.
And since most people I've chosen to associate with are the second type, my judgements are often correct c:

I think clothes say a lot about a person. I don't care about brands, but I do judge a person after the style. If the colors are mismatched and the clothes look dirty, then that person can't be amazing either. People put a part of their personality in their clothing style, that's why there are so many types: goth, casual, tomboy, barbie etc.
I do get an idea about how a person can be after the clothing, but I rarely judge them.
Since middle school, I attend private establishments... So, since then, I don't judge people by their clothes, I just recognize from where they are. But, it's different now at University (even if mine's private), people finally dare to wear things they like, and not things their social class must wear... But it's only in my Uni, from what I noticed in my city... =__=
Hm, well one of the first things in psychology is that you can say something about a person by the way that they are dressed. BUT that doesn't mean that you can still judge them and say anything about it. First learn about the person and the do that, otherwise you can't judge someone without the evidence.
But I know on what you meant and I try to be the same. Not to judge others by the clothing they have.
I can't say I have ever judged someone by their clothes. In fact, I hardly pay attention to clothes. XD When I'm talking to a person, I just look at their face, because clothes don't really matter to me. Everyone has their own style and their own look, so what's the point in judging them for it?
I try not to judge people overall. But since my school is just filled with mostly rich people a lot of the time I assume they are rich, which I shouldnt. But it is a small school so everyone knows each other and I find it funny when they think I am rich becuase I'm not XD

Uneducated indeed. 8D
I do assumptions but I don't base their overall persona on that. And those branded items could just be given items. xDD

We all make judgments on other people, whether we realize this or not. "Oh, you look nice!" is a judgment call.
There's nothing wrong with making judgments, most of them anyway. Assumptions are another thing, I think.

Don't you hate that, when people judge you on looks?
