Danni led the group back down stairs after taking the key from Chero. She wanted to let the couple comfort each other. Danni stopped at a door that looked promising. She put the key in and twisted. …Nothing. She tried again. Nothing.
She turned around and tried the door across from it. CLICK. The door opened. Danni raced in. The room was a nice size. It had a large bed and a table with chairs around it. There was also a fireplace.
“This looks good,” Hime said.
Danni locked the door behind her after Dino and Chero came in. Dino pulled out
some matches from his pocket and tossed them to Hime.
“I found these in the closet…” he said.
Hime started a fire in the fire place. She held her hands up and warmed them.
“This place is only temporary…But it should do for the night…” Hime sighed.
Chero nodded, “I’m exhausted…I ran so much.”
Dino smiled, “Si, we could all use a rest.”
“Do you really think we’re stuck here?” Danni asked.
“It seems so…” Hime said, “The monster has us trapped.”
“Our goal should be finding a way out tomorrow,” Dino said.
Chero yawned.
“I have no idea what time it is…My watch is broken.” Chero sighed, “But I am so tired.”
“Maybe we should sleep?” Danni suggested.
“It would be a bad idea for us to all sleep at once. Let’s take shifts,” Hime suggested.
Dino nodded, “Si, and do rock, paper, scissors to see who stays up first.”
The group of four gathered.
“ROCK”
“PAPER”
“SCISSORS”
“SHOOT”
Danni glanced over at her three sleeping friends. Chero in the middle of Dino and Hime. Danni chuckled to herself.
“They look so sweet…And so serious during that game of rock, paper, scissors.”
Danni yawned. She froze when she heard the door handle rattle. She glanced over
at her three friends.
“Why aren’t they waking up?” she asked.
The door kept rattling. Danni frowned. She got up and walked over to the door. She hesitated.
“Well…here goes nothing. If I am lucky…Maybe it’s just a salesman!” she joked.
Danni pulled out the gun she received from Dante as a gift and slowly opened the door.
She gasped.
