Great article! Your very well spoken, and make your points quite clear (although Inphinity, being confused between French and English, missed the meaning of a few words *cracks out dictionary*). I hope one day this issue/problem/idiocy will be corrected.

very nicely stated. very nicely stated.

when i was like thirteen i would actually lie to some people on online games and tell them i am a guy, just for kicks. lol

i get angry when people find out i'm a girl and underestimate me in games, or when my guy friends do the same!though i have to say, i haven't found too many true gamer girls that flaunt the fact that they are a girl, now, i've seen a few newbie girls do such, but even a few of them are rare. i don't think girls should hide their gender, i'm seventeen and proud to be a girl, but i don't think they should do so hopes of being "special" as gamers.

btw, shadow of the colossus was an awesome game ;)

lol.good points there. many people are hungry for attention like that. I never utter the forbidden phrase. When I am given an incredulous stare, I must say with frustration, "Yes, I am a gamer!"
I hate being underestimated "just because". If I win, the opponent is laughed at for "losing to a girl".
They didnt lose to a girl, they lost to a gamer.
If I lose, its because I'm "just a girl".
    Lovely article anyway. :)

I'd rather see in shades of gray.
