The Road Leading Into FLCL: Progressive

All at once I've been trying to not spoil myself for season 2 but at the same time keep tabs on all of the content that Adult Swim is offering us.

Perusing through some Toonami and Adult Swim channels I found this:
(IT'S NOT A TRAP I PROMISE)

And of course the FLCL Progressive trailer that just dropped.

I'll go quickly with what I see.

First off, I'll start with this new character Jinyu.
It appears as if she will be present throughout Progressive and Alternative, and my theory of her being a rogue member of that galactic patrol thing may be a bit incorrect because we see her and Haruko fighting in the trailer.

So maybe she's going to serve as a foil for Haruko since Commander Amarao from season 1 isn't around.

I also think its interesting that ATOMSK is described as a vintage car on the webpage but if you look at the Japanese trailer at the bottom of it you see glimpses of Atosmk in that bird-like form from before, and it looks like Haruko actually gets to wield its power, which is going to be sick!

It was also kinda confirmed in the Progressive trailer, too, so lots to look forward to.

Calling it right now based on the trailer:
I think the main character in Progressive, Hidomi, will actually help Haruko get the power of Atomsk since there were multiple shots of her with it and it seems that Jinyu is trying to stop that from happening.
For now I'm really interested in seeing Haruko and Hidomi interact with each-other, I think Hidomi's façade about pretending to not hear is a really cool approach and opens up for a well-written or at the very least an entertaining character to watch. That is seconded to how Jinyu and Haruko are going to interact since it seems like they're going to be fighting for some parts of it.

Only gripes I have with it are that the art and animation in Progressive doesn't look as full and as detailed as the art and animation for Alternative, but I guess it makes sense since they've had more time to work on the later series. Also I heard the phrase "overflow" in the trailer and I wonder if that's going to be a callback to season 1 where Sameji says "overflow" but its a small detail that doesn't mean everything, I was just afraid that they might not keep a continuity or that it might pose more questions than it answers.

I hope I can stream this online somewhere since I don't have a TV right now, or maybe I can get out on a Saturday or two to watch it, because I am so ready for this to drop!

P.S:
I'll try to post this year's FLCL Week Project either on June 2nd or on June 9th. I've got some things going on that day so I may not get to it on the 2nd, and then I'll actually be busy starting that week so if I can't get it on that day I'll wait and post it on the 9th.
