So I'd like to introduce a new feature that looks at old cartoon characters who may not have made much of an impact at the time but are really not that great when you look into them, equally I'd like to redeem some characters who got unwanted hate.
The only rule is that all shows must pre date 2006 and is not an active long running cartoon like the Simpsons
Bert Raccoon from The Raccoons
Bert Raccoon walked so SpongeBob could run, the 80s manchild is the titular lead of the Raccoons and while not stopping Cyril Sneer from destroying the forest for financial gain, he's having fun with his friends, however he's a freeloader, a third wheel in his best friend's relationship and has more than once betrayed his friends for glory whether it being a baseball star or a rock star, needless to say Bert is no SpongeBob.
The Creep from Galaxy High
I shouldn't need to tell you why the Creep is hear but in case you've never seen it, The Creep is a yellow bug like alien who has an unhealthy infatuation with Aimee to the point of literally chaining himself to her, don't let the random Sinatra voice fool you, the Creep is a flat out stalker.
Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland
Disney's Alice in Wonderland is quite the beloved movie and the Cheshire Cat is arguably the most popular character next to Alice herself but Dreamlight Valley exposed Cheshire Cat; as a kid, Cheshire Cat's deliberate cryptic annoying answers seem silly and charming but as an adult, he's the personification of every internet troll I've ever come across, from personal experience, someone even attempted that routine on me only to receive a well deserved block.
Peppermint Fizz from Strawberry Shortcake
My biggest pet peeve of traditional girls cartoons is that they preach forgiveness and tolerance but if characters don't change then it portrays everyone as dangerously naive and gullible, Peppermint Fizz really tests that theory with as many as four times possibly more instances of Peppermint being a complete utter bitch, she even cheated a toddler out of a sports day victory and tried to drive off another character for being different with the thinly veiled message of racism being bad, needless to say, I skip any episode where Peppermint is the focus.
Scrappy Doo from Scooby Doo
It's well documented how hated Scrappy Doo is but I feel it's unwarranted, his appearance in the series saved Scooby Doo from cancellation into the 80s, and one thing which Scooby and Shaggy can't do is hold a series together on their own, they need characters to playoff otherwise their cowardly routine gets old really fast, Scrappy Doo's head on approach is hardly the worst dynamic to play with and the only thing genuinely annoying about him is his voice, he's not even the worst character in the franchise, that's saved for next episode.
