Finally got a job!

With the submission of my hiring packet today, I am now officially a Japanese tutor at my college! Good times all around! It took a while to finalize because I forgot to bring my birth certificate for them to scan for my records. ><;

A job that's something I love... the recipe for success! Here's hoping this leads to even better things!

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit's tutoring time!

So the other day, I grabbed an application for a tutoring job at my college!

Since both of my Japanese teachers said that their 1000 level and 2000 level classes are not doing so well, they were both very receptive to the idea of me becoming a Japanese tutor. Here's hoping everything turns out all right! These kiddies need the help >>;

All better for now.

To celebrate my better mood, enjoy this clip of what can usually always put a smile on my face: Japanese game shows!

One of the most fun things ever

You know what's not fun?

Annoying telemarketers/survey takers that call your house when you're trying to relax.

You know what IS fun?

Answering annoying telemarketers/survey takers that call your house when you're trying to relax... in Japanese!

The following is a transcript of a real conversation that I had with a survey taker. Your mileage may vary.

-----

*phone rings, I answer*

Me: Moshi moshi, Tanaka desu. [Hello, this is Tanaka.]

Guy: ...Hello?

Me: Hai! [Yes!]

Guy: Hello sir, would you like to participate in a survey today?

Me: Eh, sumimasen... Eigo wo hanashimasen. [Uh, I'm sorry... I don't speak English.]

Guy: ...So would you like to take the survey?

Me: Iie, kekko desu. [No, I'm fine.]

Guy: What year were you born, sir?

Me: Etto... anata wa kaizoku desu ka? [Um... are you a pirate?]

Guy: ...Ok, I'll just call back later.

Me: Arigatou! [Thanks!]

*guy hangs up, my family bursts out laughing*
