The Core Four Keyholders
Reka Norikawa is Takeshi's second-in-command, as well as an ex-Guard from the Fire Gate's Llania region. He has gone AWOL at the series' opening.
Specialty: Fire and magma elemental attacks. His fighter rank is Yogan (elite fighter class).
Likes: Kids, building, horseplay, messing with people
Dislikes: getting up early, pompous jerks, when people pry into his personal life, guns
Relatives of note: Father (General Haru Norikawa), mother (Amara)
Closest friends: Hisao, Shuichi, Takeshi, Toki
Others' views of him...
Takeshi: He's very dependable and trustworthy, but very reckless. *sigh*
Toki: He's always risking his neck for us. He's too nice. *blush*
Kita: A piece of work. I like to mess with him. XD (Toki: You're a piece of work, too, Kita. -_-')
Shuichi: He's generally a nice guy, but you don't want to get on his bad side - he's got a nasty temper and a sharp tongue. Trust me, I've known him for years.

Reka and Satoshi
- They are close to the same age.
- Both of their fathers are of high rank in the Llanian army.
- Both of them are highly-skilled fighters.
- Reka rebels against his abusive father, while Satoshi goes to any means necessary to emulate his.
- They are both upper-class. Satoshi carries the upper class's prejudice against the lower class, while Reka goes out of his way to protect them.
Sound like quite the explosive combination? When these two fiery-tempered fighters butt heads, the sparks really fly! And since Satoshi views Reka as his rival, they are always at odds.
Takeshi and Shuichi
- Both are leaders in their own right.
- Both are intelligent and caring.
- Takeshi is three years younger than Shuichi.
- Takeshi is somewhat clumsy, while Shuichi has strong athletic ability.
- Takeshi has slightly more charisma than Shuichi, but Shuichi is more down-to-earth.
They're really good friends and exchange information with each other.
Sora and Reka
- Both are guardian characters whose priority is defending their teammates, even if that means giving up their lives. Both of them can be reckless in that respect.
- Both are stubborn.
- Both of them have a soft spot for Shiori.
- Sora is two years younger than Reka.
- Reka is very outspoken (which at times backfires on him), while Sora almost never raises his voice -- he doesn't even talk much.
- Sora is considerably more mellow than Reka.
They complement each other in battle and get along well when they're together.
- Hometown: Kurosaka, Llania
- Family: 3 members, upper-class, dysfunctional
- Reka loses his friend, Hisao, when he is eight years old.
- Six years later, Reka and his friends are drafted into the Llanian Guard against their will. Reka is sent on a mission to collect one of the minor Keys. But, knowing that the Keys belonged to the Kaita village, Reka steals back some of the Keys from the Llanian army and goes AWOL -- which is when he comes into contact with Takeshi in the Kaita village.
