I agree with you - music is so nice for drawing. I have to have something in the background. When drawing, I'd watch TV and get into the zone. Don't get to do that as much these days. :/

Your life might not be full of adrenaline or exciting events, but that doesn't mean that it is any less that any other life. I am sure that there are many things that you could appreciate, but sometimes they are not the ones that can be shared with anyone (same with me). :)
