Yup, very expensive. I don't know why people price things like that. I can't believe anyone could afford to spend anywhere near that for a manga volume. I've also seen anime shows really expensive too.
I'm kind of used to characters I really like dying in stories - they seem to more often than I would be comfortable with. However, it is good to know that the emotions were handled realistically. Too often I have found death scenes - or other supposedly emotional scenes - that were not handled well at all. All the emotion seemed fake, as though the author or scriptwriter didn't know how to get their point across.
I don't know exactly what happened, but I do know the ultimate outcome for Elliot. I really wasn't too happy about that - not only was I not looking for this information (and there was no warning before it to tell anyone that it was a spoiler) but this character also happened to be one of my favorites from the anime.
I'll probably have to find myself a good website that I can read manga's on because there are several that I would love to read but it is borderline impossible to find. And if you do find them, the price tag is several hundred dollars for one volume of manga.

Believe me, I have every intention of reading the manga. But, you see, I one of those people that feels a need to buy the manga (just like the anime) as opposed to just getting it for free. I was going to read the manga off this website I found, and then buy the volumes to keep on my shelf, but then they gave Oz that last name of Bezarus (I know that's the one used in the fan translations) and that was driving me nuts. I did read the first volume of the manga, but that was only about a week after I finished the show. I decided to wait until the anime wasn't quite so fresh in my mind. I'm thinking that next time I order I'll get another volume or two of this manga and a couple others as well. (I know what happened to one of the characters. I was at zerochan and had it spoiled for me.)

Me, I pretty much liked everyone on this show. (It was just one of those things for me.) My favorite girl, though, would be Sharon, and my favorite guy is Xerxes.

Oh boy, just give me more encouragement to read the manga - not that I really needed it.
