Actually, grooming it really does help a lot. It will raise the love status it has too ^^

If you just want a crobat, just continually heal your golbat whenever it gets hurt, even after battles it wins. Also give it items to raise the love status and then when you wait for it to level, it'll evolve. Trust me, I've gotten a lot of crobats out of that. So it wouldn't really matter where you train it. But depending on how levelled it is, I'd reccomend training it in the pokemon league or just around strong trainers

Shinyness has had nothing to do wih stats sence gold and silver and even then they had no effect on stats, it was just based off them.
The reason that one is stronger than the other is due to diffrences in IVs and nature.
Where is a good place to train in firered-leafgreen? I'm trying to get a crobat (another on of my favs, though he kinda sucks....)

I caught two magikarp one was shiny and the other wasn't, same stats, same nature, and same HP, I raised them at the same time and they both evolved into Gyarados, the Shiny was more powerful by the time it evolved by a long run

It's all in the Ev's and how you raise them, the fact that they are shiny doesn't help much as far as I can tell.

I had a shiny alteria, a shiny Makuhita and Hariyama, and a greenish Skarmory, and a gold Vulpix. I traded them all away or lost them when my Ruby got corrupted (went through the wash :( ).

Zangoose is bad a**, I'll give you that, but a good slaking can take out a regi in one hit so it's something to look into. I tend to hang away form the normals but every now and then I find one I like, like Exploud, or one I hate to the death, like Blissy.

Couse my cousin have now moved on to all the newer platium games and such, though I still give them a good butt whooping every now and then. No of them has no idea who to build a party and the other has no sense of stratgy. Seriously, my Gengar alredy eats souls, does he need to kick it to? Take my recent 2 0n 2 battle with him.
Him: I chose you Golduck and Wailord!
Me: I chose you Slaking and Shuckle!
Slaking: *lazy good for nothing does nothing this turn*
Shuckle: Gastro Acid on Slaking
golduck: Water gun
Wailord: surf
Slaking: Earthquake
Everyone else: Dead (The wailord was level 90 BTW, Mine was level 80)
(Note to you, YOU GOT TO TRY THIS, Slaking's stats beat out most of the ledgendarys hands down and gastro acid takes away his pain in the butt ability.)

I tend to stick to the pure electric types, having started out on yellow instead of red or blue. A soon as I could I ditched the pikachu and got a voltorb, reason being the pure spped of the famliy. You name a pure electric type and I've proably used it in one of the games.

Magnet Rise make earthqake and flamethrow doesn't have stab, though it could cause a problem. Electrode would proably also be a better choice now that I think of it. It can also learn Magnet rise and dosen't have a weakness to fire. Plus it is the 3rd or 4th fastest pokemon.
there is usually and electrode on my team, as with Metagross, Shedinja (He can be a pain in the ass if used right), Whiscash, Arcanine, Rayquaza (it's cheating I know), and belive it or not Castform.

Though I think the answer to there death lies in Mamoswine. It has AncientPower and all the nessary ice moves like avalanche. Thoug hflamethrower would be a problem, salamance doesn't get stab from it thank god.

Walrein are weak to Fighting, Grass, and Electric. What P.v.per wouldn't just love to pull out a Electivire/Breloom/Magneton/ Lanturn and show that firsthand? I also heard that the new Magnezone eats them allive. The only problem with flygon is that he is weak to his own kind, dragons are too popular. I hate Salamences...

And you forget that since Typhlosion is a pure type he doesn't recieve any bonus to power for those moves while blaziken can get a stab from very phisical moves that blast through Typhlosion minimal defense.
What I like about blaziken is that even though he may not be the first out he can still hit anything with a good amount of power. And he can't be murdered by a half-decent Solrock, Lunatone, Armaldo, Groudon, Cradily, or my third favorite pokemon, who I have three of, Flygon.

You forget that Typhlosion is a pure type though, which gives it more resistance to other attacks while Blaziken can be taken out by flying, psychic, ground, water... but Empoleon is a lot worse since it's water and steel and could wither be taken out by a thunderpunch or earthquake

Corse you'd be toppled by my Blazikens. Though Typhlosion has moderatly better speed and special defence(which doesn't help agaist a blaziken as the only special move it regularly learns is ember) a blaziken has way better attack and only slightly worse defense.
However if I knew I had to fight a typhlosion, I'd would go borrow my cousin's Empoleon because that things brine, hydro pump, swords dance, drill peck moveset is freaking beast!

In my opnion now that I think about it, I'd go with my faithful Typhlosion ^^ raised him in Crystal and he can combat any type thrown his way and knock them out with one hit. He knows Earthquake, Thunderpunch, Flamethrower, and Strength. :3 I love Typhlosions...

there is the pure attack of a torchic and the freaking awesomeness of it's evoled forms. I remember blasting through champion steven only using flame kick from three of those suckers.
then there is the newcomer piplup, with it ledgendary steel/ice type surf-learning final form that has been destroying the lv. 100 battle grounds.
The choice alone would kill me.
