If you give her a target she will aim at you. IF you chose to ignore it calmly(while still showing that you love her) You present no target, and therefor she cannot yell at you without looking and felling dumb as a post.
Sorry to hear that...my parents are the same..they fight with you and two minutes later they are like "do you want an icecream? ^^" fufufu so I thing you are doing the correct thing doing something else to get that out of you ^^
