Hmmmm, well, with a sword you'd have to get closer to the monster, and then you'd have a higher chance of dying. Guns would be more effective if you are in long range combat... Pfft, look at me, acting like I know how to kill these mythical creatures. XDD The violent side of me just took over... >3
