After Dark.

Being out in the wilderness is bad enough, but does it really have to be fifty below zero? Our class went on a camping trip and that night when it was time to settle down and I got into my sleeping bag. That's when I realized how cold it is outside. Once I got over the cold just a little after midnight I managed to get to sleep. Until around 4:00 when I awoke to the noise of by far the most annoying bird I had ever heard of. The loud and almost nasially "WO..WO..WO..WO WO WO!" Woke me up and the shivers running down my spine kept me up. Through out the day a near by patch of snow had melted and ran under our tent where it froze that night. I shivered in my sleeping bag starring at my friends face. It's creepy to see someone's eyes move around under their eye lids. In an attempt to get warm I turned over and faced my other tent buddy. She sat up and rubbed her eyes. I quickly followed suit. The two of us spoke of how cold we were. It was by then 4:19 and we were still freezing. I was struggling to get to sleep the bird still trying desperatily to keep me up. That's when the girl farthest from me moved away from the tent wall where she was in the fetal position. All of us with the exeption of my brunette friend were up and moving. The shortest friend of mine a blonde decieded it's best we all make our sleeping bag's into one big bed to share body heat. So we did. I shivered as soon as I exited my sleeping bag. Once we all were laying down that's when my friend made a shocking discovering. Some one had left the window open on her side of the tent letting all the cold air in. Finally I put my head under the blanket and tried to block out the bird until I was asleep. At least until the next morning when my brunette friend stepped on my face and then fell and elbowed me in the gut at 5:30 AM when she went for a pee. It's safe to say that when your camping it's best to bring lot's of extra blankets.
