Hectic-ness is very oft what we need. The speed of things sometimes distracts us from other issues that would otherwise require our attention. Though avoidance is not a very plausible strategy for every day, it's nice once in a while. ^^
The Twilight series is actually a huge hit at my school - it has normal book-shunners, reading. Rather fascinating development if you ask me. XD. I personally haven't read it yet. I'm doing what I did with the HP series... straying away from the very popular books of the season. Though I really have no logical reasoning as to why... -_-;
