Anime Expo 2008 Convention Report
So I could type up my own report on Anime-Expo but sadly it wouldn't be as cool as ANN amazing report on the whole con. They have keynote video's, full panels reports and lots of flashy light but here are some things I think you guys should checkout.

Japan's Gundam 00 Site Updates with 2nd Season Details
The official Japanese website for the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 science-fiction anime series has updated with new pages for the second season. The story page now describes the premise of the second season, which will premiere in October on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. The character profiles of the four Gundam Meister pilots have been updated in the wake of the first season's ending. The mechanical descriptions for the new 00 Gundam, Keldim Gundam, Arios Gundam, and Selavii Gundam mobile suit mecha have also been posted. The official American website launched earlier this week, and the first season will premiere in the United States on November 17.
Man Arrested for Threatening Nana Mizuki Online
A 21-year-old Japanese man was arrested on Thursday for posting a message on the 2ch online message board in which he allegedly threatened to kill voice actress and singer Nana Mizuki and her fans. According to the authorities, the suspect Masaki Hori wrote on June 19 at around 4:46 a.m., "I'll use a dagger knife and a two-ton truck to commit a massacre" upon Mizuki and her devotees at Yoyogi, the Tokyo site of her planned concert on July 5. The weapons described in the message echo the weapons used in the June 8 massacre in Akihabara that left seven people dead.

Speed Racer grosses a little over 43 million dollars in the U.S after 9 weeks in the box office. Only paying for less then 1/3 of its 150 million dollar budget. The latest report from Entertainment Weekly show Speed Racer at number 20 in the top movies with 0.2 million in 293 sites making a average of only $690 a site compared to Iron Man which has been out for 10 weeks making 1.5 million in 1,019 sites with a average of $1,432 per site and a total gross of 311.7 million dollars in the U.S.

Future US Publishes One-Off Future Anime Mag in U.S.
Future US, the California-based publisher of Nintendo Power, Guitar World, Maximum PC, and other gaming and lifestyle magazines, is publishing a one-off magazine called Future Anime this month. Gary Steinman, the former editor-in-chief of A.D. Vision's Newtype USA magazine and the current executive editor of Future's PlayStation: The Official Magazine, helmed this Summer 2008 issue. The issue costs US$9.99 and will stay on newsstands until October 21. It features a Gurren Lagann cover, 12 posters, and no DVD. According to Steinman, the publisher has the option of turning the publication into a recurring special or a full magazine launch. The staff will "gauge the audience interest and go from there." Also Ex-Newtype USA editor-in-chief Steinman gauges interest for possible follow-up.
