So a quick, bare-bone, sub-only, 9-episode per disc release this summer, followed by a more conventional dual-audio release starting next year. Probably goes without saying that a LOT of people are gonna be watching how this one fares . . .
I could be wrong, but I had read about the ADV distribution hiatus some time ago, since a coupld of titles I was buying were among those suspended. They kept it pretty quiet, and never said anything about giving up rights to anything.

Uh... this could be a problem. ADV never actually gave up the rights as far as I know, they just suspended distribution of the majority of their catalogue while working out some issues.

In any case, Bandai sounds like they're making for an interesting experiment with Gurren Lagann: multiple releases.
