    Well, this wasn't the first time they used Conan.

    As much as I appreciate the government's appreciation for Conan (and really, I really appreciate it), I do hope he will never be used by the government for some evil motives. Because if that happens, I would be pretty angry.

    On non-related stuff, this makes me wonder what would be the reaction of fans if they saw their favorite anime character being used for, let's say, the Beijing Olympics or the War in Iraq or the Tibet controversy. Just wondering.

    Can Conan helpfully explain the usual G8 anarchists' and rioters' motivations to the children? That is the mystery to be solved.

    @TrigunCat4:

    If our government tries to use SpongeBob as its pamphlet cartoon character, I will move to another country.

    HAha Nice! Detective Conan is approved by the Japanese Government.

    If our government were to make a pamphlet using a cartoon character, it would probably be either Micky Mouse or SpongeBob...

    @TimeChaser:

    You're right. Every single politician, no matter what party affiliation, should be put in their place as the public servants they were meant to be. I swear, the pettiness makes me want to vomit, but I still have to keep up. Blech.
