I'm not sure how to react with this news, since the Toonami block in our Cartoon Network in the Philippines seems to be dead already (although it still manages to broadcast a few anime series and some sentai series in certain timeslots). I understand that this may be hard on a lot of you since it's been a part of your childhood lives already. The thing we can do now is just cherish the memories you had during those golden years of Toonami.

Hopefully, though, this doesn't mean the end of anime in Cartoon Network in the USA.

For chibimaster: I know what you mean. Today's cartoons are just too childish and a far cry from the many anime (and the many cartoons) that we've seen back when we were kids.

For Sangome: Now that you've put it that way, may I suggest that you make a eulogy-like essay for Toonami to let others pay their final respects? I guess it's the best that you can do right now.

Hmm...thats a bummer, I feel sorry for the kids now since all they have left are some acid inducing cartoons like chowder to watch and no classic anime.

Yikes, this turned into an essay. Sorry about that.

Don't be, my attention span is more than up to the task. ^_^ Now that you mention it, I kind of vaguely remember seeing something like that, but my parents didn't care for it so we never watched it. ._.

I don't know why, but I was never the type to get annoyed over something not being allowed, I just went and found something else to do. ^^ It really is too bad they took it off the air.

Well, Toonami ended for me a few years ago when it switched from weekday afternoons to weekend nights, so I haven't watched it in a long time (except for the occasional Miyazaki film).

But this really is a surprise. Toonami is what got me really interested in anime. It seems like it's been around forever and now it's gone, just like that...

And with the only anime on Adult Swim now shunted to the dead hours, it seems Cartoon Network has become suddenly hostile to anime after embracing it for so many years.

That's what I've been hearing. I'm not really familiar with what it was though. ^^ I'm assuming, based on what I heard, it was a time slot for airing different anime shows. It's too bad that they decided to get rid of it.

wow. Well that was unexpected X|
I kinda stopped watching Toonami but I never thought it'd go away...
I remember the year I started watching anime on Toonami. I was soooo hooked and spent my whole summer waiting for Toonami's time slot.
._____. I didn't think they'd just boot it off like that.

Tis a sad day indeed. I pretty much became an anime fan through Toonami, back in its glory days of course.
In fact, I believe I first saw .hack//SIGN on Toonami, and now I'm a huge .hack fangirl because of that.

It's just sad that CN is slowly whittling away all anime from their line-ups. :/

I can understand the cancellation of Naruto but... *smacks hand on desk* ...taking away my Toonami? I grew up on Toonami! This bites!
