I think that's how most people start! I remember Mangakid started off the same! When I was little, I didn't have to much interest in drawing people although I did try to drawing in the style of Sailor Moon a few times back in 5th grade. XD

It's so funny about how so many of us have the same origin stories. LOL. I drew animal characters all the time because I was so bad at drawing people.
