Oooo! Sounds interesting! It reminds me of two things! The Books of Pellinor by Alison Croggon. In those the main character: Maerad is held as a slave in a bad place called Gilman's Cot. She is later rescued and finds that she must seek her true MAGIC name! The second is my OC, Black Rose, her real name is only known by the leader of the Akatsuki Organization. (Sorry this comment is so long, I love the story so far.... where have I hear 'Lior' before... hmm...)
