X & Y are nice because you can custom your character a little, but it's style is really different to the older ones :)

Remind me to comment more in-depth about the "mon" debate. I saw parts of both series, and I have quite a bit to say about both. Heck, I wanted to to a post about this some time ago, but I forgot about it.

I watched both as a kid, but more of the Digimon episodes have stuck with me than Pokemon. But I lovee the Pokemon games ^^ I think the thing with Pokemon is that it's a bit repetitive by now and Digimon (well the ones I watched) had a deeper story that progressed.

I did like and watch bith when I was a kid, but digimon is the one I love. On netflix they have season 1 and 2 of tamers, and frontier. I actually spent an entire weekend bingeing just digimon.

But I agree, the repetitiveness is one thing that holds Pokemon back. It did have some good stand-alone stories.
