I have played both the tabletop games and the online RPG's much of is valid. The problem with the online games is those players that fail as a good party member always change their names when they get a bad reputation. So be good, cortious, and only argue on the most valid points of conflict. You will gain the respect and reputation that have people inviting you to join them. Don't go trash talking about other players it get's you ranked with those that suck and trash talk to cover their short-comings. Just remember those that offended you and politely decline to join any groups including those you have an issue with. If they ask your reasons why just politely tell them you had adventures with whomever and felt they are a detriment to the game enjoyment or the specific crime you wish to say they are guilty of.
Ah yes, the unavoidable or rather will show up 'whiner' of the group. It never fails to amaze me how you always end up with at least one. =P I remember that all too well back when I played games like this.
Now, I end up doing online gaming when we can get together. It's interesting how much those rules/suggestions easily transfer over to the online aspect as well.
*falls over* any time someone says the play dungeons and dragons i remember my 10th grade algebra 2 teacher who was a dill instructor in the military then retired to be a teacher. still young though but he......... was a dork as much as i hate to say it xDDDD
he would randomly talk to us during class and tell us he's having a party at his house and playing D&D on friday so everyone should come over. no one ever went xD
I've never played that kind of board game either, but online stuff... it's really very similiar. Cause if someone keeps being a drag, next time you don't bother to give them the info needed to log in and join the fun. Because you don't want them to ruin the fun in the first place.

I don't really play games like this, however, I've done some online gaming with friends so the principle is fairly similar. It only takes one to ruin the party, seriously.

I never play D&D, I'm more of a computer game person....but since it might be applicable to Diablo III, I'll favorite it anyways.
