Horrible news. Any form of cancer is so devastating. I know of several people who have died of various forms this year and it's always a terrible struggle.
I hope that your friend is at least well supported and as comfortable as possible as time moves on. Being around family and friends is so important at a time like this.

I would say either that, or due to the positioning of the tumor, the doctors can't operate without seriously endangering the life of Allamorph's friend. (That is my guess, anyway -- I am certainly no medical expert.)

Saying everybody experiences awful things doesn't make it any less painful.
