Meh, it happens to everyone, though I don't know anyone (personally) with a Mac so I can't attest to that. However, customer support has been surprisingly helpful a few times, though I keep hearing horror stories about their overseas counterparts. But most fixing here gets done by acquiantances that happen to be PC-savvy, so not much relying on CS there >_>

I do that now as well; I was working on this one wallpaper- I use multiple images, fixed many lines, added a seamless background and saved. Weeks later I return, and only a few lines are left. I stared at my screen for a good five minutes before I moved again. We're like PC veterans now- we get flashbacks to the last computer failure, cry at the memory, and then obsessively fix & save things. //laughs

It think it's ironic how many people want to toss their 'Windows' computers out of the window. I think the developers did that on purpose.

That...hits really close to home ._. I once vectored for 3 hours without saving. Then, all of a sudden, it decides it's boring and immediately, spontaneously RESTARTS itself. No BSoD, no "Windows has recovered from a serious error", just my normal desktop. I still cringe whenever I think about it. On the plus side, I'm so paranoid now that I save every time I draw a line, which has saved me a few times.

If your window wasn't so close to the ground, I really would recommend tossing it out. Here, in the districts closer to the city limits, people toss their trash out the window, Middle Ages-style. Man, I wouldn't even wait for it to screw me over the 4th time, it'd get the boot the third time (though I'm slightly luckier and only have an absolutely shitty penchant for shitty monitors instead).

Methinks you need a new computer... But yeah, I've been through that kind of thing too. Saving 40 pages and when you go to use them you notice there's only 21 >_> COMPUTER GOT WHAT HE DESERVES! *ahem* This comment shouldn't come from an IT student. But hey, after fixing so many computers that are NOT your own, you kind of get frustrated when your 'baby' does shit like that to spite you... Like rubbing in your face "Pffft, computer expert who?" Darned things =_=

I'd tell you to burn it with fire but then you'd never see any possible info that you've lost since then. I haven't had it happen a lot to me but the few times it has I've wanted to just take it to the top of some building and toss it over.

It's amazing how much we depend on and love our computers while simultaneously hating how much they screw us over at times.

Oh dear. :((( That is so horrible! *hugs* I'm so sorry. Ugh, computers sure know how to piss us off. My brother has been having comp problems, too. I hope that it somehow pops up somewhere...cause that's a lot of work down the drain. *hugs*
