Yeah, it's not enough to just block them. Reporting is the best way to put an end to it so they don't bother other people too.

I've been plagued by a stalker before so I know how annoying and upsetting that can be. So I'm glad you put an end to that member doing that to people.

Good advice. I had a similar situation to you, although it involved a homeless guy wanting to look at my watch. It's a long story but it wasn't just a case of someone trying to steal from me or something...it was actually quite scary based on what he said and stuff.

So yes, you should definitely make noise whenever something like this happens. Inappropriate advances via PM are definitely not okay and it's something we take very seriously. I hope that OBers will do the same.

I'm sure this is me just being naive, but the fact that stuff like that happens in real life amazes me and scares me to the core. Just the fact that there are sick predators out there who are willing to do such insane things makes me feel sick.

I'm glad you posted this, because I'm sure I would have just passed by it and not have made it a deal if it happened to me. I'm not one who likes to attract attention to myself (that's why I totally understand about your story, anyone who would yell "Get away from me pervert!" has a lot of guts in my opinion), so I'd be silent and block 'em.

Well trust me, if that happened to me I wouldn't respond and I would put them on my block list and then talk about it in the chat so eventually it would get around, but now that you have mentioned something like this happening I know what to do, and I think it was a good idea for you to tell a personal story.

I only have a couple people blocked, but I wouldn't call them predators.. They were just rude individuals. And I remember PMing you about them as well.

But I completely agree. People shouldn't keep quiet about stuff like this; it's too serious. Glad to know the scum has been dealt with thus far.

It's always a good idea to report something like that instead of just blocking it. You may have stopped them from bugging you, but that doesn't help put an end to the problem like you said.

I'm really glad to hear that you took care of it. Those kind of people are just sick and have no place here.

i have also been a victim of predators, I once got followed home, and nearly got forced into his car... Pedofile... Thankfully my young body could quickly outrun his old perverted body and I managed to escape... I feell the same way too I just ran, I wish I could have atleast got his number plate... who knows where he is now... I actually can't bear thinking about it... *shudders*
I can't believe though anything like this would happen on theotaku... such a proud nice site... I definatley think this should be made an announcement on the main site though... Toi make more people aware... That man stil haunts me to this day... and now thanks to this we may be able to make the world and the site a whole better place

I agree, it's important to report things like that instead of blocking and leaving them to continue harassing others. Just as it's important to speak up if someone pulls a stunt like that person did with you.
