    We don't have a smoke alarm directly in the kitchen for this precise reason. All the bedrooms and the hallway suffice for us. You might think of removing it entirely. In case of an actual fire, having one in an adjoining room would be safety precaution enough. Smoke travels quite quickly - quicker than our response time, so the difference between having it in one room or another is negligible.

    Or...get a different brand, one that isn't as sensitive. It will drive you crazy for the rest of your days otherwise.

    Best of luck. ^.^

    I would try bribing it, and if that doesn't work just rip it off the ceiling!

    Actually, it sounds like you need to have a new one installed, one less likely to go off over cooking smoke. Unless you're scorching your food a lot. ^^ We have one in our apartment, but even if we accidentally burn the popcorn, it doesn't go off.

    What a horrible smoke alarm. If there was ever really a fire, you'd probably just ignore it 'cause it goes off all the time anyway. XD;;

    There is this kind of putty stuff that I've heard of-and we have some- that always stays sticky, comes off of objects easily, and is reusable. I'm sure you could find it at some hardware store or Walmart. Velcro sounds like a good idea, too, though it might do more permanent damage if it sticks really well to the ceiling.

    Not sure I was too helpful because I don't remember the name of it, but perhaps you'll have better luck with some other comments. Sorry if I wasn't that helpful, Bossman.

    Hopefully your problem will get fixed soon!

    Can't you just unscrew the fire detector and move it to the other side of the room?
    If not i have an idea
