I'm glad to hear this, Bossman. When I read your earlier post, at first I was taken back. But then I considered your perspective and how you had to feel as the guy who represents TheO itself. We certainly understand.
It would be nice to have celebrity chats again. Perhaps such events need better planning, both for us and for the celebrity. That way, it will be fair for both sides - we get proper notification in advance as do they, AND they will get the proper attention they deserve. :)
Thanks for all your hard work! You do so much for us. We're certainly happy with what you do.
Part of the difficulty incumbent with being in a major leadership role, such as Site Founder, is that you still get the same emotional reactions as everyone else, but you are no longer free to express such reactions the same way.
When everyone around you looks up to you and watches what you do, you have to hold yourself to a higher standard. You are no longer simply representing yourself anymore. You represent the entire site as a whole, along with every member of that site.
And when you get frustrated and explode, you're exploding in front of everyone around. All your emotions are publicly viewable ... meaning you make yourself look like a horse's ass if you react the wrong way.
I feel awful for not coming! I had plans come up all of a sudden and I could not make it, which I am really disappointed about since Colleen is one of my favorite voice actors.
Well, I didn't get to read your post but from what you've said about it...I kind of agree with it. As the owner of TheO, you have a big burden on your shoulders and it's damn impossible to please everyone.
Regarding the new features, they're more than welcome; whatever they are, they help build this community. I get a kick out of hearing people complain, then changing their minds after a little while. Adam, keep going; whoever doesn't agree (and is bitchy about it for no reason) can just GTFO the internet or grow a thicker skin c:
I initially didn't really think anything of it when you put that post actually. People get frustrated, especially on the internet. (Coming from someone who frequently wants to go on several long ranty complaint sessions with foul language but then doesn't (me))
It must be difficult sometimes, especially since I've noticed that people seem to immediately lash out at something new that happens that isn't like the original. But that's all normal internet stuff. But it must get kinda sad that people don't appreciate it at first.
I unfortunately didn't go because I'm the lone non-anime/casual fan/whatever that doesn't really know ANY of the voice actors, nor would I really add to the questions because I have no idea what I would say XD
Oh wow I had no idea about any of this untill I saw your rant and rave in your world>^< lol. Anyways it's ok^-^. I would have totally made it if I knew about it sooner. How did the celeberty take it?
Ask Vic Mignogna, Then they're would be a HUGE attendance level I'm sure of it hehe ;) I would deffo be there. I'm sorry I didn't come to this one, I live in the UK and get confused with ur times when coinsideing with my own lol
I did ask Beth but I was late by an hour lol :P
Does that give me brownie points? lol I would of liked to have met the woman who played Riza, and she seemed really nice when I read what had happened in the news bit hehe
Just so upset that I missed it :(
Don't worry though, I will make sure not to miss the next one hehe ^_^
I wasn't offended since I was certain you were frustrated instead of actually annoyed with the members. I'm only sorry that I can't give you a sooner confirmation of having the time available to moderate a chat. My new work and class I'm taking makes getting a day off more than a week in advance impossible.
I know I'm gonna enjoy the new features you're rolling out. I think people will like 'em too.

If it's any consolation, I had a feeling you were using sarcasm, which unfortunately has a tendency to backfire on the internet. Glad you came back with a more detailed post though.
I disagree about deleting the post, I think this one is more detailed, accurate and has the same purpose. Also since this is my personal world I didn't want the negativity on here indefinitely.
I agree with you except for the detail that the majority was offended, the majority in the original thread and in communications to me privately-by a large margin-felt sad or equally disappointed and not offended. It sucks some people including yourself were offended but it's not accurate to say it was a majority of people who saw my post.

You know, it looks pretty bad when you delete your post in the first place. The fact you posted such a thing at all shows to me that you either didn't think it through or you didn't care if people would get offended. But then to simply get rid of it later doesn't really help.
Hopefully from now on the site will get better and the events will be more successful.
The wording of your previous post made us the scapegoat. You didn't sound like you were being hard on yourself, so the majority of people who commented didn't feel guilty; rather, they felt offended at getting the blame placed on them.
We're here on this site of our free will, and things like Chat guests are a fun thing to have. Better timing and scheduling is needed to make them a success.

The collaboration feature is interesting... I hope to do it someday with someone. ~

It's true that calling it the worst day in our history was a bit intentionally over-the-top
Not that it was a good day, but we've had much worse.

Even among those 27 comments only a few expressed anger/offense. The vast majority were apologies, expressions of sadness/guilt, and the like.
