Adam, theOtaku Staff, I feel that I should apologize for having a negative view of this contest in the past, especially after realizing that I conducted something very similar to thisback in 2008.
I guess I got carried away by the negative comments that people had made with the Member of the Year award and forgot that I did the same thing before.
So I apologize if I unknowingly became a hypocrite, Adam and theOtaku staff. I'll do my best not to do it again.

On a related note, isn't it odd that The Otaku of the Year 2008 was actually well-received while 2011 Member of the Year had a lot of negative comments? Is this because mine was just an unofficial Watercooler event while the 2011 version was an official site event?
Oh, and I learned about this fact through the new comment feature. So I guess you managed to "pawn" me there, Bossman.
I'm starting to notice more updates already. Hugs have turned to votes, tabs are in the Portfolio, and there's no more World rankings in our Backroom. What could be next?
I've noticed all the updates. I preferred "hugs" over "votes" :/ And, if you're changing so much, why not change that homepage we all hate so much? o__O
Just don't work yourself too hard or anything c:

I'm already seeing a bunch of subtle, but useful additions to the site (thank you!) - and the comment slam idea is brilliant. Love all of the controversy you've created, like a real boss. 8)

Noticed that you kept on changing the hugs yesterday it went from thumbs, to thumb-ups, now to votes, and now I wonder what the next item will be, which will be awesome as always.
Don't stress yourself out too much, Adam, and just do what you can.
