Well, my mom tells me it's best to handwash my briefs everyday, single or not single, to keep it clean. Then again, you're using the same underwear for two days.
Also, since you mentioned "a day in the life" in your post, I kinda got myself to make this little song parody for you:

I washed my brief today, oh boy
And hung my underwear above to dry
And though the brief was rather clean

Kind of like the site. You cruise along until you realize something absolutely has to be fixed. Then you just do a quick patch, call it done and move along.
LOL, this is rich; not that it didn't happen to me, but in my case it was other items of clothing.....
~and a girl's nightmare: to have 2 wardrobes full of clothes and no idea what to wear!
Thing was, I was gonna go back home for dinner, and as such was planning on bringing all my laundry back that day. As such, no sense spending three bucks for the sake of needing one clean pair of underwear.
