Battle Royale was one of the first live-action Japanese movies I ever watched. I got interested in it after my brother told me, "Watch this movie if you want to see how messed up Japanese people are." LOL

I remember hearing about that when I took a Contemporary Japan class. Not sure if it's my kind of thing, although I did manage to get through "Suicide Club", which was pretty damn awful.
