OK, here are some examples. Brace yourself for long-ness-itude. You can edit and rearrange things as you see fit. If you give me credit for this, I will be eternally grateful. And if you need anything more, just ask.

When tagging a picture, think of what's in the picture. Let's say you make a wallpaper featuring Kagome of Inuyasha. "Kagome" would be a good tag word. "Inuyasha" may not be the best word to use (unless Inuyasha was actually in the wallpaper). If the series already has a category, there is no need to use the series name as a tag, especially if the name of the series is also the name of the main character. If a user wants a wallpaper with Inuyasha, himself, they might get frustrated if they do a search for "Inuyasha" and then have to look through pages and pages of characters from Inuyasha that don't actually feature the character Inuyasha.

Another thing that's generally looked down upon is to use names of popular characters that aren't in the picture-- or even in the same series. If you want people to comment on a drawing of your original character, using the name "Pikachu" as a tag won't help you. Users who do a search for "Pikachu" want to see a Pokemon. They will probably be annoyed that someone typed in Pikachu's name as a tag just to get attention.

If you want your original character to get noticed, use more than just the character's name as a tag. Think of words that describe the character. If your character is a girl, type "girl". If this particular girl is an elf, you could type "elf". If she's an archer shooting an arrow, "archer", "bow", "arrow", and even "weapon" would be appropriate tags.

All tags should be separated by commas, but multiple words can be used as a single tag as well. All you have to do is remove the comma between the two words. For example, Instead of tagging a card featuring Sailor Moon with "Sailor, Moon", just don't type the comma and the words "Sailor" and "Moon" become one tag. That way, when a user does a search for "Sailor Moon" they'll find your card. If you had added a comma, your card would only pop up if users did a search for the word "Moon" OR the word "Sailor", but not both words at the same time.

I have an idea for a question: How do I use tags effectively? (I actually know the answer, but a lot of people don't.) So, you can explain about separating tags with commas, using two or more words as a single tag by not separating them with commas, and what words to use to describe the picture/wallpaper/whatever and what words not to use. If you need me to elaborate/give examples, I can.
