Well, from what I've gathered, the singer, Utatane Piko, was a fan dubber on Nico Nico Douga and went professional with it. The information is still rather vauge, but I'll do my best to uncover it! ^^
Yeah, some people make up their own characters and just use their own voices for the Vocaloid. I wish I had the program to make them... that would be so much fun! lol
