Well, in this situation it would have to be rendered out I think. I am TOTALLY not an expert in vectors...but the background would have to be transparant so that you can make one from scratch. At least...that's what I do....maybe I'll try to render it out...but since you have the original, I'm pretty sure it would be easier for you to make the back transparent and turn it into a render. LOL
